What's new in Torris
Every dated release, newest first — real commits, not marketing copy. Torris ships fast; this is the honest record of what changed and when.
Turbo boards
2026-07-12
- Turbo — a fast 5×5 board — is now playable everywhere, and part of the Daily's rotation.
- Share cards render your actual 3D Pyre board when you played the match in Blaze view.
Bots talk back, one settings panel for everything
2026-07-11
- Rival bots react mid-duel with emotes — reading the board as it happens, not just at game over.
- Every setting — sound, board view, account — lives behind one gear icon on every screen.
- Standalone Firecraft and FAQ pages, plus a proper 404 for broken links.
- Last-move ghost trails mark exactly where each flame just came from.
A game you can hear, a board you can navigate blind
2026-07-10
- A full proprietary sound palette shipped into the live game: every slide, burn, surge, and win now has its own voice.
- The board is playable non-visually — screen readers announce every tile and whose turn it is.
Emotes speak plainly
2026-07-09
- Emote labels switched to plain gamer words (GG, Rage) instead of fire poetry — instant-read over clever.
- Text contrast raised across every page for easier reading.
Emotes get personality, streaks get fixed
2026-07-08
- Emotes now ride the flame itself as taunts, not a separate cloud — a punchier, more expressive set.
- Daily streaks are account-scoped: sign in on a second device and your streak comes with you.
- Matchmaking and rated-sparring tier bugs fixed.
The boss tier arrives
2026-07-06
- Torris joins the bot ladder as the boss tier above Torch — the hardest rival in Kindling.
- Daily standings: a leaderboard ranked by fewest moves, verified server-side.
- Terms of Service page at /terms, alongside Privacy and the FAQ, all linked from the homepage.
- Kindling's board picker now previews the real board instead of naming presets.
The Daily, dares, and rated sparring
2026-07-05
- The Daily — one seeded board a day, same for everyone — with a streak counter.
- Dare links (/c/<seed>): share the exact board and rival heat you just cleared, and challenge a friend to beat it.
- Rated sparring: an unmatched queue now falls back to a training rival after about a minute, in a real rated game.
- An embeddable build ships for aggregator sites and Discord Activities, with sign-in and ads hidden for iframe play.
Heat, the Pyre, and the practice ladder
2026-07-04
- The Heat rating system ships — win rated duels to climb from Spark to Torch.
- Kindling's practice bots ladder by Heat tier, from a fresh Spark to a sharp Torch.
- The 3D board earns its name, the Pyre, and flames now visibly torch each tile as they slide across it.
- Spectating, online matchmaking ("Strike a match"), and install-as-app support all go live.
Torris ignites
2026-07-03
- Renamed to Torris.
- New boards: Cross, Diamond, and Crucible, plus the Backburn twist — the outer ring burns inward.
- Drafted abilities: Douse, Firebreak, Phase, and Trailblazer — pick one, once per game.
- Three and four-player free-for-all — last one burning.
- A live-rendered 3D board view debuts, alongside Google sign-in, replays, and a privacy page.
Torris goes live
2026-07-02
- The first live match: real-time turn-based duels over a shared board link — no installs, no accounts.
